My Story

Hello! My name is Casey and I’m a Cottage Baker in Plain City, Ohio. I knew from an early age that I wanted to have my own business and that it would probably involve baking. I grew up eating delicious food that was made by my family - either in their homes or from our family business. My mom taught me how to bake as a kid and as I got older I started to pick my own favorite recipes to add to my collection.

 

I started The Girl Next Door Bakery not too long after I moved to Columbus so that I could bake for my coworkers on holidays and special occasions.  I've always been a fan of having a work-life balance, so I took a few years off when my kids were born. But I am glad to be able to start up again now that they are a little older.

 

Baking is what’s fun for me - even though I am my own worst critic. I have a full-time career, but I’ve always found pleasure in providing food to others and seeing them enjoy it. It may not be fancy, but it tastes great and that’s what matters to me. I would love the opportunity to share some of my favorites with you!
